Thursday 05/11/2009

The Gifted and talented (G&T) Black pupils’ achievement module and briefing pack offers continuing professional development materials for schools and local authorities to use to support the attainment of gifted and talented Black pupils.

The materials contain cameos, professional development activities and tools for schools to improve their G&T provision. Each strand of development activity has a clear focus and purpose, key questions to address and a suggested delivery model which has been developed with local authorities and trialled in primary and secondary schools.

Carol Singh, Programme Director (Gifted and Talented) for the National Strategies, said: “This guidance highlights the importance of tackling those issues faced by Black students which can have an impact on their chances of success.”
